Privacy

Purpose limitation, by design

OnMyRoof handles unusually sensitive information: your exact address, your electricity behavior, your equipment, your utility account and your program eligibility. Virginia law treats precise geolocation as sensitive data. We operate on purpose limitation whether or not a statutory threshold applies.

Every authorization you give is a separate, versioned record in our consent ledger: what purpose, which data categories, which recipient, which legal text version, when it was granted, when it expires and when you revoked it. We do not use one global “authorize everything” checkbox.

We never sell your information, never share it for third-party marketing, and never make telemarketing calls. Sponsors see aggregate program reporting, not household data, unless you explicitly authorize otherwise.

Our research bots read only public web pages, identify themselves as OnMyRoofBot/1.0, respect robots.txt, and carry no personal information about anyone.

The consents we ask for

  • Account and privacy

    OnMyRoof stores your account details, your service address and the information you enter so we can qualify your home for community energy programs. Your exact address is treated as sensitive data, is used only for this purpose, and is never sold. You can delete your account at any time.

  • Program enrollment

    You ask OnMyRoof to enroll your home in the community energy program shown, to keep a record of your project's progress, and to contact you about that program by email. Enrollment does not obligate you to install anything or sign any contract.

  • Send my details to an approved partner

    You authorize OnMyRoof to send your name, phone, email, address, project details and eligibility information to the named installation or program partner for the sole purpose of completing your project. We record who received what, when, and under which version of this text. The partner may not resell your information.

  • Connect my utility data

    You authorize OnMyRoof to receive your electricity usage, bills and tariff information from your utility through its customer-data program (for example Green Button Connect). You can revoke this at your utility or here at any time.

  • Connect my solar, battery or EV

    You authorize OnMyRoof to read production, consumption and battery status from your equipment manufacturer's account. OnMyRoof only reads data; it never sends control commands to your equipment.

  • Community energy program (VPP) participation

    You agree to the virtual power plant program terms provided by the program operator. The operator, not OnMyRoof, controls dispatch and pays any earnings; OnMyRoof shows you your participation status and settlements.

  • Program updates and news

    OnMyRoof may email you about new incentives, community milestones and program news. Unsubscribe any time. We never make telemarketing calls and never share your contact details for others' marketing.
